Smart Deck Creation

Turn any source into a personalised flashcard deck in minutes. WoodyWord's AI scans your content, matches words against its vocabulary database, and generates definitions, translations, and example sentences for anything new. You receive a push notification when your deck is ready, so you can close the app and come back later.

Supported sources:

AI Stories with Audio

Generate short, immersive stories written in your target language, each accompanied by audio narration so you can listen while you read.

• Play, pause, seek, and loop audio with adjustable playback speed

• Adjustable font size for comfortable reading
• Study Mode: tap any word to instantly see its flashcard — definition, translation, and example sentences

Free users can generate 1 story (lifetime). Premium users can generate up to 2 new stories per day. Stories draw from the same credit pool as Smart Decks.

Arcade Game

Practice vocabulary in a fast-paced game mode. A 90-second countdown keeps the energy high as you work through two question types:

• Multiple choice — pick the correct translation
• Cloze drag-and-drop — drag the missing word into the sentence

Your score and in-session streak are tracked throughout, and an end-of-game summary shows your performance.

Dictionary

Search for any word in your target language at any time. Typeahead suggestions appear as you type. Tap a word to see its full flashcard and save it directly to your personal vocabulary for future review.

Daily Lessons

Each day a fresh set of bite-sized vocabulary lessons appears on your Home screen. Lessons are curated to match your level and goals, complete offline immediately, and sync automatically when you reconnect. Completing a Daily Lesson counts toward your streak.

Streak & Progress Tracking

WoodyWord tracks your consecutive study days as a streak, shown on your Profile page alongside a calendar view. A bar chart displays your activity over time so you can see your learning momentum at a glance. Streak data syncs in the background even when you are offline.

Personalisation

WoodyWord adapts to you from day one. During onboarding you set your target language, native language, proficiency level, learning goals, preferred topics, daily study time, and preferred study time of day. A habit-stacking step helps you anchor your new study habit to an existing daily routine.

All settings can be updated at any time. A spaced-repetition engine schedules reviews at the optimal moment so you remember more with less effort.
